Ephniko is a Colombian artist, Emcee and Selector blending sounds in an unpredictable and eclectic way. Rooted in 90s hiphop, his music expands in a global direction. He moves crowds by melting together cumbia, salsa, hiphop, afrobeat, champeta, compa, funk, merengue, reggae, soca, R&B, and a whole universe of soulful roots music. He combines genres and eras using beat elements of hiphop, house, dancehall and moombahton. He has performed DJ sets at across the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia, including at world-renowned festivals such as Okeechobee Fest (US), Sfinks Festival (Belgium), Nine Mile Bob Marley Fest (Miami), Art With Me Fest (US), Afro Roots Fest (Miami), Grassroots Festival (NY), and many more. Ephniko has shared the bill with artists like EPMD, Vico C, Kendrick Lamar, Cultura Profética, Talib Kweli, Manu Dibango, Bahammadia, Mad Professor, Al2, Bobbito Garcia, Black Eyed Peas, Midnite, Luciano, Gondwana, Grupo Niche, Bosq, Nickodemus, DJ Lord, and other music legends. As a DJ, he currently holds a ten year ongoing monthly residency at Bembe (Brooklyn), a well known tropical music mecca in NYC, as well as at Guanabanas in South Florida. Previous residencies include Untapped Block Party and Marriot Poolside, also in South Florida.
