When I began planning our special day I was completely overwhelmed. Living on the west coast and trying to plan a wedding on the east coast had its challenges but it all came together perfectly with a lot of help and guidance from a few people, two being Val Davis and his wonderful wife. I began searching for entertainment, because everyone knows that a DJ at a wedding is more than just a music provider, but someone who helps start the party and keep it going. After reading some of Val's references I contacted him and it seems everything fell into place. The wedding venue had a few preferred DJ's but I knew after corresponding with Val that he was the right choice for us. One of the more helpful pieces of planning advice that I received, Val sent a packet that has specific traditions, typical "day of" events, etc that really helps make planning (even outside of the entertainment) extremely helpful, and he even helped me execute a special surprise for my husband on our special day!! Val is personable, easy to contact, extremely accommodating, and was an excellent MC for our day. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for entertainment, and not just for a wedding, but know that if you are planning a wedding he would be a great addition to your special day. Val Davis did a GREAT job at our wedding. The lighting they provided was amazing. They made the whole tent glow at night. Val also provided guitar music (which he played) for the arrival of our guests to the ceremony and the walk down to meet my groom. It was a nice touch for an outdoor wedding. Val was happy to provide a mic for our ceremony so that everyone would be able to hear at our outdoor venue. His wife Dona was also our photographer. She was REALLY great to work with. She was such a trooper working with our very silly wedding party. As we had done some pre wedding photos taken they were able to project them and some from the ceremony (only moments before) onto the tent for the wedding guests to see. It was a fantastic touch. We did not know they were able to do that. We have not gotten a chance to see all the photo proofs as of yet... but if they are as good as some of the unedited ones she was projecting at the wedding we will be stoked. Val was an absolute JOY to work with. I don't know where to start. Val played gentle chords for our ceremony which was EXACTLY what we hoped for. He is an amazing guitar player and many of the guests complimented the romance of his playing. When we play back our video, Val's playing truly adds something special to the ceremony. Val also was our DJ for the reception. He kept everyone, young and old on the dance floor all night long! He played such an amazing mix of songs that kept dancing interesting and so much fun. He also surprised us by adding an awesome light show including having our names on the dance floor! Val, as well as his wife were extremely kind and sweet throughout the ceremony and reception. I even changed my timing schedule DURING the reception in terms of when dances would start, and Val was more than happy to accommodate and keep the evening moving. We got a lot of compliments from guests as well in terms of Val's music and how great he played. He was a great MC for the night and is clearly knowledgeable and will help you keep your wedding on track and a blast! Val also coordinated with our bridal parties for a surprise flash mob that they had created (Seen in pic)! They also said he was awesome with that project! Overall, Val really went above and beyond expectations for our wedding and was extremely responsive and helpful in planning. When we first booked Val, he made us feel extremely comfortable choosing him and was very sweet and kind when we mentioned that we were a same-sex couple. He was happy to be a part of our day.
