DJ Grom was born in Ussuriysk, nestled in Russia’s Far East. A prodigious passion for music ignited within him at just 12 years old when he first discovered the intricate rhythms of IDM (Intelligent Dance Music). Like many other DJs, his journey began humbly: spinning tracks at school parties, but it wasn’t long before his unique sound caught fire.
By 1998, DJ Grom officially started to perform, bringing his electrifying sets to clubs in Ussuriysk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and beyond. His insatiable creativity led him to start producing his own original music by 1999, cementing his place not only as a performer but also as a producer. In the late '90s, he became a voice for the burgeoning rave scene of Russia’s Far East, penning insightful articles about electronic music culture for local newspapers that helped shape its identity.
His talent didn’t go unnoticed. In 2006, DJ Grom clinched the prestigious "R&D AWARDS" title for Best Techno DJ, solidifying his status in techno music. From 2007 to 2008, he took his craft international, serving as the resident DJ at Macau’s venues as "MP4 Club" and "MP3 Bar Lounge", where he was able to convey his music outlook to international audience.
In 2009-2010, DJ Grom expanded his influence even further as the ideological mastermind behind "Rave Formation Promo Group," spearheading groundbreaking events and pushing the boundaries of underground dance culture in the Far-East of Russia. But his true calling lay in production.
In July 2011, DJ Grom released his debut maxi-single, "Addicted to Rave," under Germany’s label "Contempt Music Productions". This was followed later that year by another successful release, "Afterwards." By 2015, his third maxi-single, "Reflections," showcased his evolution as an artist who seamlessly blends old-school with forward-thinking beats.
DJ Grom is known for his multifaceted projects in different genres of electronic music. As "Grom," he crafts infectious house grooves, earning acclaim with releases on Soviet Lenivo Records. Under the alias "Cyclonixx," he pays homage to the golden era of hard trance with high-octane anthems released via Rave Muzik Records (Germany). Meanwhile, his Eurodance project, "X-Course," skyrocketed to No. 1 on Brazil’s Radio Energia Chart, thanks to unforgettable banger "Ups & Downs" dropped through Driving Wheel Recordings (UK).
Today, DJ Grom settled in Guangzhou, continuing to push sonic boundaries while inspiring fans worldwide. With decades of experience and an unwavering dedication to the art of music, DJ Grom remains a true architect of rave culture whose beats transcend borders and ignite souls.
